I think it’s time for a little break from princesses after all that “Frozen Fun”, so I say: Make Mine Marvel!
We’ll be spending a few days this week wandering through Innoventions in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland exploring the Marvel-tastic goodness inside!
First off: Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries.
The first of the Marvel exhibits here was introduced in April of 2013 inside the former Carousel of Progress/America Sings building now known as Innoventions. It was intended as a summer attraction to promote Iron Man 3, but was so popular it stuck around and is now part of a range of Marvel-ous experiences in the upper level of the structure.
Housed in a fairly simple open area, guests can walk around and see the various iterations of Tony Stark’s Iron Man suits in his “Hall of Armor” and pose near them for photo ops.
There is also a small corner to virtually “suit up” and play a video game as Iron Man including testing out his repulsor blast abilities.
Please be aware, however, that Innoventions is not always open during all park hours – check your daily Entertainment Times Guide for availability.
There is not a lot to this area, but if you’re a film fan or a Marvel fan, it’s definitely worth checking out. That central Iron Man suit is impressive – and a little intimidating!
It’s just too bad it’s not a Meet & Greet location for the character too.
Have you visited Iron Man Tech in Innoventions?
Update 3/7/15: Disneyland has just announced that Innoventions will be closing March 31st. It is unknown at this time if the Marvel experiences will be moved elsewhere in the Resort, so if you want to visit them, you have until the end of this month to do so! Personally, I’m hoping these exhibits and Meet & Greets will be moved elsewhere (possibly the currently closed Starcade?) at least temporarily until a new home for Marvel properties is established in the Resort. But the Innoventions building would make a great Stark Expo or S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters with a little renovation, don’t you think?
Update 3/10/16: Earlier this week Disney announced that they were closing the SuperHero HQ in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland that they recently opened which had been hosting the Iron Man Tech exhibit along with Marvel character Meet & Greets. April 2nd will be your last chance to check out this exhibit as there is no confirmation that it will return again.
