Pluto and the Dog – A Magical Moment in the Park

As I mentioned in a recent article, family pets are not allowed into the Disney Parks. However, service animals are.

On one particular day in Disney California Adventure, I came across a very special encounter between two precious pups in the park and I think I’ll let the pictures tell the tail…

A service animal’s owner stopped to say hello to Pluto. And so did the service dog!

As with all dogs who are happy to meet each other – noses sniffed and tails wagged!

Pluto was happy to spend time with his new friend!

Watching Pluto interact with this totally “professional” service dog was absolutely one of my favorite park experiences ever!

Service animals must be able to handle all kinds of interactions and distractions, which is probably why I have seen so many being trained at the parks where there are nothing BUT distractions!

However, I would remind folks when they see a service animal working (namely, when its vest is on – it’s at work!), please do not attempt to pet or play with them. They are at the parks while “on the job” and not at play!

At least, not unless their owner gives them a little time off to make friends!

Have you seen service animals at the Disney Parks? Did you ever see an encounter like this one?
