Mousertainment’s Favorite Bands: The 80z All-Stars

The 80z All-Stars!

The 80z All-Stars!

Hopefully you recognize these guys from their many years playing at Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland Park, but the 80z All-Stars are still out there rockin’ a ton of great 1980’s music all over the U.S. – most often in Southern California.

As a big fan of this totally awesome cover band, I recently went to see them perform at their monthly scheduled show at M15 Concert Bar & Grill in Corona and as usual, I was not disappointed!

Previously featured favorites lead singer Nigel and bassist Devo 2.0 were joined by regular guitar player Jamie Starr and drummer Karate Kid.

I was happy to see that Nigel’s fabulous fashion sense has not altered since his time at Disneyland Park! And happily, the outfit changes that happened between sets there also happened here!

But one extra perk of seeing these M15 shows is that the guys in the band often have a fantastic female guest singer with them – whether that’s ‘Sheena Cold Medina’ or ‘Dawn Johnson’ or in the case of the night I went, ‘Candy Spandex’ – these gals are all tremendously talented performers and they spice up any show they participate in!

Speaking of spice, though, I’ll note that the guys (and gals) at an 80z All-Stars performance dial up the flirty fun when they are outside the Disney Parks & Resorts (where they kept it more family friendly), and the age limit for shows at this location is 18 & up. Note: there is also a $15 cover charge per person to get into the shows at M15.

But for me it’s absolutely worth it to see some of the hardest-working and most entertaining performers I know rock that stage!

In the case of the show I went to, the addition of Candy Spandex not only allowed some female-driven vocals for a change at 80z, but made for some terrific on-stage chemistry between Candy and Nigel – I just loved these two together!

Candy also had great rapport with Devo 2.0!

And as always, the guys were having fun rockin’ together, too!

For me, it just doesn’t feel like summer without some 80z All-Stars good times, so I’m glad I’m planning to catch a show with them again next weekend at one of their summer concerts in the park! But I also intend to head out to see them in Corona again in the future – and hopefully that show will also be sweet as Candy!

Have you gone to see The 80z All-Stars either inside or outside the Disneyland Resort? Are they one of your favorite cover bands?

Update 9/13/16: I’ve uploaded several 80z All-Stars videos – Check out some of this band’s performances here on the Mousertainment YouTube Channel
